 Amy Foster, M.Ed., Chief Operations Officer,  HR Officer, Site Director - Paris, TX and Idabel, OK, New Programs Consultant, Drug Testing Director, BHCM III

Amy is a graduate of Paris Junior College and Texas A&M University-Commerce. She graduated in August of 2023 with her masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University.  She served in Texas and Oklahoma as a teacher for many years. In 2009 while teaching in Oklahoma, she began working as a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist for a local counseling agency. In 2010, she left her teaching career and began working for them as Program Director of after-school programs. In 2012, she and her father, Steven Foster, opened Cornerstone Counseling Service where she has served as Chief Operations Officer, New Programs Consultant, Drug Testing Director, and as a Behavioral Health Case Manager. Amy is also certified in DOT and non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing, is a DOT Qualified Specimen Collector Trainer, as well as a Breath Alcohol Technician Instructor. She is also co-site director for the McAlester, OK office.

  Rea Mackenzie, Administrative Assistant, HR Officer, Medical Billing and Insurance Specialist

Rea is the Administrative Assistant in our Hugo, OK office, the HR Officer, the Medical Billing and Insurance Specialist, and a co-site director of our McAlester, OK office. When she isn't studying or working, Rea enjoys traveling with her two dogs, spending time with loved ones, or relaxing with a book. With over a decade of collective experience in customer service, sales, registration assistance and laying the foundation for business start-ups and filings, Cornerstone welcomes Rea Mackenzie to the team!


Cory  Cory Kuykendall, Milan Trainer/Private Insurance Representative, Payroll

 Cory has been with Cornerstone Counseling since the opening of the McAlester office in 2012. He serves as Chief Financial Officer, as well as the Milan Trainer and the Private Insurance Representative. He is an asset to those he serves at Cornerstone.

Susan is the Site Director of Cornerstone Counseling Service. She is a Hugo native and a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.







Jessica Mathews In Hugo, Oklahoma

Jessica Mathews, MBS, LPC, Clinical Director

Jessica graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with her Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences in 2009. She enjoys working with the community and is dedicated to helping others. She is a mother to two boys and she enjoys spending time with her family. Jessica has been with Cornerstone Counseling since its beginning in 2012.


Stuart Schuhmann In Hugo, Oklahoma

Stuart Schuhmann, LCSW

Stuart Schuhmann graduated from Texas A&M-Commerce and began practicing in 2011. Stuart works in the Northeastern Texas and Southeastern Oklahoma region. He currently holds a Clinical Social Work license (LCSW) on both Texas and Oklahoma. He has completed the Batter's Intervention Program in Oklahoma. Stuart has also been trained by EMDR to address trauma related issues like PTSD. He assists clients struggling with issues involving anxiety, depression, mood/personality disorders, trauma and PTSD. He accepts clients of all ages and works with individuals, couples and groups. Stuart's philosophy is based on unconditional positive regard and meeting the client where they are. His career in the business world helps him better understand the stresses and struggles related to dealing with daily issues. He has an easy-going style with a passion with helping his clients work towards a purpose driven life.

Catherine Valencia, M.Ed., LPC-S, NCC

Catherine is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has worked for Cornerstone Counseling since it was founded in 2012. She has earned her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Catherine has served many roles, such as, Case Management, Rehab, and group work with individuals and families. During her practicum, she has worked with children, youth, adults, and families. Catherine advocates on behalf of her clients and families in support of keeping families together and will advocate for her clients. Catherine is trained in many forms of therapy including, but not limited to, EMDR trauma therapy, Postpartum Depression, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  Catherine is also a certified LPC Supervisor. Outside of work, Catherine enjoys reading, spending time outdoors and relaxing with friends and family.

Jamie Scales, LMSW, LCSWP

Jamie graduated from Texas A&M University Commerce with a Master's in Social Work. She has been doing case management since January of 2014 and therapy since January of 2015. She received her license in February of 2017. She specializes in working with substance abuse counseling and finds joy in working with probation clients to help them work through their sobriety and find ways to stay out of trouble. She also works with families in a wide range of mental health disorders, such as anxiety, bipolar, and depression disorders. Jamie starts with the client and helps them find ways they can cope and help themselves.



Mindy Fancher In Hugo, Oklahoma

Mindy Fancher, MSW U/S

Mindy completed her Master of Social Work at Texas A&M Commerce in 2016. Typically, she works with children, as well as, adults and families. Mindy sees clients for a multitude of issues including those struggling with anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues.

Stana Self, LPC

Stana is a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and has been an active counselor for 2 years. With one year of exclusively working with Domestic Violence clients treating PTSD, anxiety, and depression, Stana now mainly works with children that experience behavioral issues that are often related to ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and depression. Prior to becoming a counselor, Stana was a 2nd grade teacher. When she isn't seeing clients, she enjoys time spent with her husband and children in the great outdoors that Oklahoma has to offer.

Heather Earley - LPC

Heather is a Licensed professional counselor who is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CAMs Care Suicide Prevention and who has been trained in Polyvagal theory/technique for clients on the Autism Spectrum. She will be a certified LPC Supervisor later this year. She graduated from Mid America Christian University with her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has been licensed in Clinical Mental Health/Counseling focus since 2020. She has experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, motivation, self esteem and confidence, and depression. She has experience working with clients of all ages in inpatient and outpatient settings, both in community mental health and private practice. She believes that you are the expert of your story and that you possess many strengths that will assist you in overcoming challenges that you face. She always says "It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take a step toward change" and she is here to support and help you on that journey. Heather loves spending time with her husband, her two young children and their pets,  going to the lake, reading, shopping, cooking, and traveling. 


Sandra Allen In Hugo, Oklahoma

Sandra Allen - BHCM II

Sandra obtained her Bachelor of Science in Education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. Sandra works with children and adults in case management and behavioral health rehabilitation.


Millette Shelton, BHCMII Millette Shelton In Hugo, Oklahoma

Millette completed her degree at Texas A&M Commerce. She works with children and young adults with issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and behavioral issues.

Ashley Self received her Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Ashley is a BHCM II and works with adults and children who struggle with adjustment, depression, anger, substance abuse, trauma, and behavioral issues.

Kayla Mitchell, BHCM II

Kayla has been a Rehabilitation Specialist/Case Manager since 2010 and she has been with Cornerstone Counseling since 2013.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.  She works with kids, adults, families, and schools.  She works with clients on things like: communication, anger, coping, anxiety, positive thinking, goals, and grief.  She also assists clients with linkage and referrals to community resources to help them with their needs.  Kayla sees clients in the Idabel and Hugo area.

 Cara Fuller, BHCM II

Cara is a Behavioral Health Case Manager II with a Bachelor’s degree in General Psychology, a Master’s degree in General Psychology, and a graduate certificate in School Counseling. Cara is a licensed school counselor, and she is currently enrolled at Southeastern Oklahoma State for clinical counseling while working towards certification as a licensed professional counselor. Cara has several years of experience in case management, including overseeing the case management program for a 120-bed domestic violence crisis shelter.  Cara also has several years of teaching experience, working with students as young as preschool all the way up to teaching adult education at a state prison. Cara is certified in trauma informed care. Cara sees clients of all ages and backgrounds in the Hugo and Idabel areas.

Sara Faust, BHCM I

Sara comes to Cornerstone with an extensive background in substance abuse and recovery modalities and has worked as a case manager for the last 3 years. Before her work in the medical field, she worked as a project coordinator for biometrics and survival of crew at Johnson Space Center in Houston. Getting an idea of how neuropsychology and therapy play a part in so many areas of every profession inspired her to set out on a new career path. Moving to Oklahoma from Houston, she has found herself a new home here in the country and adores horses in her free time and the unique therapy they bring. Sara is completing her collegiate studies and will soon graduate from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's in Psychology. She plans to remain with Cornerstone through her higher education as she works towards becoming a licensed therapist.
